Car history:
THIS IS AN ALL ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK MATCHING NUMBERS NCRS MULTIPLE AWARD WINNER! BOTH TOPS! This 1972 Stingray Convertible is nothing short of STUNNING among its siblings and peers! The car is mostly all original excluding an exceptional, show quality refinish to its original Targa Blue glory it was born with. The Big Block has been rebuilt as well; once again no expense was spared with this high performance highly documented engine rebuild. This 454 Big Block is pushing 400HP at the flywheel. Standard Equipment: Positraction Rear Axle, Outside Rearview Mirror, Tinted Glass, Flow-Thru Ventilation System, Four-Wheel Disc Brakes, Electric Clock, Carpeting, Wheel Trim Rings (Rally Sport Wheels), All-Vinyl Upholstery, Anti-Theft Alarm System, Close-Ratio Four-Speed Manual Transmission. Optional Equipment: LS5 454 CI (7.4L) LS5 V8 Engine (air injector reactor), N/A Positraction Axle, Optional Ratio (3:55:1), N/A Custom Interior Trim (leather), A31 Electric Power Windows, C07 Auxiliary Hardtop, C60 Air Conditioning, J50 Power Brakes, N37 Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column, N40 Power Steering, PU9 White Lettered Nylon Tires, U79 AM-FM Stereo Radio, 979 Targa Blue (Standard).
Vehicle Service & History: The previous owner of this vehicle was very active in the N.C.R.S. (National Corvette Restoration Society). He also participated in judging the authenticity of many NCRS Top-Flight classic Corvettes. He traded this beautiful 1972 Corvette Roadster for an immaculate 2004 Corvette Z06. He proudly presented this Targa Blue Stingray in many events, and left with many trophies! He also has provided documented ownership history that dates back to when the car was just a few years old, 1976. The last owner held the car for over 23 years! There are many, many, many original items on the car, including original glass, switches, and knobs. Even down to the original bolt markings! The previous owner informs us that the only discrepancy with the matching numbers is the Carburetor, on which the last two digits should end with "17". The Carburetor currently installed has a part number that ends with "20". This Carburetor should be correct for a 1972 Big Block, but not for a Corvette. In addition, the owner has provided a large stock of N.O.S. and original replacement parts including the original engine cooling fan (quite rare and he did not want to risk damaging it by installing it on the car), the major components of the A.I.R. (Air Injection Reactor) system (not currently installed on the car), wiper motor, lenses, hoses, seals, decals, and many other rare, expensive, and difficult to replace items. The was a 20-year labor of love for the previous owner, and to the new owner, he is more than happy to speak with you. The previous owner left a large box of goodies that go with the vehicle. Motor suffix code is T0531CSR. 190 miles from the odometer. November 18, 2009.
